We periodically upgrade our servers and systems so that we can provide the best and most reliable customer experience possible. Sometimes this means migrating your server or hosting account to a better server in a different data center. When this happens, we work hard at making the process as smooth as possible, with little or no downtime.

Domain
Domain name is the address of your website that people type in the browser’s URL bar to visit your website. As an analogy, a domain is an “address” on the Internet. In other words, if your website was a house, then your domain name will be its address.

What do I need
To build a website you will need both a domain name and web hosting account. Buying a domain name alone only gives you the right to use that particular domain name for a specific period. You need web hosting to store your website’s files. After you get hosting, you need to update your domain name settings and point it to your web hosting service provider.

Do I have to buy them together? Or can I buy them separately?
You can either choose to buy a domain name along with your hosting plan from AssamHost or you can buy the domain from a different domain registrar. However, if you decide to not register your domain with AssamHost, you will have to point your domain name to us by editing its DNS settings (feel free to reach our support team in-case you need help configuring your DNS).

On the other hand, if you purchase your domain from AssamHost along with your hosting plan, then you will not have to change domain name settings.

It is also much easier to manage and renew both services under the same dashboard.

AssamHost offers support in a queue-based ticket system which can be easily accessed from the client area. It enables us to handle requests in the order in which we receive them. For urgent issues, you can reach out to us via Live Chat.

After your order is placed, we set up your first WordPress installation based on the information you provide while placing the order. The whole process might take as long as 24-48 hours to complete including the domain propagation. If you want us to migrate your website to AssamHost, might take even longer depending on the size of your website. Once the process is completed, we will notify you through email/ticket.

We always do the first WordPress installation for you after you purchase a plan. However, you can install WordPress yourself with our one-click WordPress installer by following the steps here. You can also contact support through chat or ticket and our technical support team will be happy to set up your WordPress instance.

Although we are not supposed to be an email provider, you can still create up to 5 email addresses on WP Grow plan and up to 20 email addresses on the WP Scale plan. We do not offer email with WP Starter plan. However, you can configure email hosting with third-party providers like G-Suite and Zoho Mail.

Please note: Having a large amount of emails on your WordPress hosting account may reduce the space needed by your website files. We suggest you to use a third-party email hosting service to store sensitive or large amounts of emails. We do not offer support for configuration, backup, migration of emails, and we are not responsible for the loss of emails from your hosting account.

No, customization or coding, site design issues, content update, web development, theme/plugin customization is outside our scope of support. We recommend buildupwp.com for complete WordPress development and customization including bug fixes.

Please note: AssamHost will not optimize your website. You can hire a web development agency or a freelancer from platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. We recommend BuildUp WP for WordPress development, maintenance and performance optimization.

All our plans come with Softaculous one-click backup. You can either set up automatic periodic backups or choose to do it manually. Backups are stored locally and may take up space from your hosting plan. Our support team can also help you configure free third-party plugins like UpdraftPlus to periodically backup your website to a remote storage such as Google Drive, DropBox, Amazon S3, etc.

WP Scale comes with real-time backup to a remote server.

A managed WordPress hosting is web hosting that has been optimized for the needs of a WordPress website. It’s important to understand that this isn’t a type of plan in the same way that shared hosting is. WordPress hosting can be shared, dedicated, cloud, or something else entirely.

WordPress hosting better meets the performance and security needs of sites built using the platform. You also get access to platform-specific features such as pre-installed sites, automatic WordPress updates, and dedicated WordPress support.

We will install and activate Divi while setting up your WordPress instance. However, if you install WordPress yourself, you can contact our support team to install and activate Divi once the WordPress installation is complete.

Contact our support team to install/activate Divi on your WordPress instance hosted with AssamHost. You do not own the Divi license that comes with your AssamHost plans. You can buy your own license directly from Elegant Themes.

No, your license will be revoked when your plan expires after you migrate your website from AssamHost. Your website will retain all the customization and design changes even if your Divi license has expired. You’ll not receive theme updates and you won’t be able to import pre-made templates from Divi if the theme is not activated.

If you host your website with AssamHost and receive the Divi theme with your plan, you may contact Support by opening a Live Chat or submit a ticket from your AssamHost User Portal. Our support specialists will help route you to the right place for help!

If you purchased Divi theme directly from Elegant Themes, you may log into your Elegant Themes portal to download your themes and to contact Support instead.

Following are the support you can expect to receive, and not receive, from the AssamHost’s Divi support team:

You will receive unlimited support for installing and using the Divi theme and all Elegant Themes-developed Divi Layouts, plus configuration assistance for all included options and bug fixes.

You will also get unlimited support for installing, using, and configuring all plugins developed by Elegant Themes.

Troubleshooting and Best Practice Advice
For obvious reasons, we cannot provide full support for customizations that you or your developer make to your theme, or for plugins that we did not write.

But we will offer best practice advice and provide basic troubleshooting for Child Theme customizations and for non-Elegant Themes plugins.

No Support
Our support team cannot customize your Child Theme for you, nor can they create a new Child Theme. In addition, our support team does not get involved with writing CSS or PHP code.

We also will not troubleshoot errors with 3rd-party Child Themes or 3rd-party Hosting platforms. This includes the 3rd-party themes that are sold by Elegant Themes, with a few exceptions — mostly, themes that were retired due to either the developer becoming a full-time employee or are no longer in business.

We will sometimes refer users to other ways of getting assistance with the areas that we are not able to support. This may include various forums or contacting Developers available for hire.

Within 3 Days
If canceled within the first 3 days, you are able to receive a full refund for the Hosting (minus the domain cost, if applicable).

3-30 Days
Between 3-30 days, you are eligible for a refund on all hosting services. We are not able to refund domain registration fees during initial purchase or renewals.

30+ Days
No refunds are offered after 30 days.

30-Day Free Trial
The promotional price is for the first term only and plans renew at the regular rate. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we’re confident you’ll be pleased with our services. Still, if you try us and decide your account does not sufficiently meet your needs, you can cancel within 30 days for a refund as follows.
— If you cancel within 30 days you receive a full refund on your hosting service only. The money-back guarantee does not apply to most add-on products, such as domains, given the unique nature of their costs.
— If you cancel within 30 days and your plan includes a free domain, AssamHost will deduct a non-refundable domain fee of 15.00 USD from your refund. This not only covers our costs, but ensures that you won’t lose your domain name. You may transfer it to another registrar or simply point it elsewhere at your convenience. Please note newly registered domains cannot be transferred to another registrar during the first 60 days of the registration period. You retain ownership of your domain until the end of its registration period unless you renew it.
— AssamHost does not offer any refunds for cancellations that occur after 30 days.

AssamHost offers domain registration besides hosting services. You can register a domain with us or transfer it to us. You can also buy a domain from other registrars. However, in that case you will have to point your domain name to AssamHost nameservers by editing its DNS settings.

On the other hand, if you purchase both the domain name and web hosting from AssamHost, then you will not have to change domain name settings.

It is also much easier to manage and renew both services under the same dashboard.

We have made all our plans to fit the needs of any website starting from sites as small as 1 GB. Once your website grows or your business grows (or both), you can easily upgrade to any of our higher plans based on your website’s requirements.

To claim your 30 days free trial, all you have to do is select the one month billing contract term, then update cart, then simply enter the promo code FREETRIAL and then select the one month billing contract term when signing up!

Please note that after your free trial, your account will automatically renew for the billing term (monthly, annually, etc.) selected at sign up, but will be suspended until payment is received. If you wish to cancel after your free trial or change your billing frequency, please contact us.

We only offer one free trial per person. It will not take more than one month to convince you though, that AssamHost is by far the best WordPress hosting provider.
